Dr. Toni DeLancey joined Pinkston to head Client Accounts in the nonprofit and government sectors.

She has held numerous communications and leadership positions in the federal government including the US Agency for Global Media, the Farm Credit Administration, the Department of the Army, and the U.S. Postal Service. She also served as the Chief Operating Officer of a nation-wide nonprofit public policy organization. In these positions she managed and led organization-wide public relations and communications activities and teams, including media relations, media training, strategic communications and operational counsel to organizational leaders, corporate spokesperson activities, crisis communications, and social media execution.

Prior to her work in the federal government and non-profit sector, Dr. DeLancey worked in broadcast journalism as a television news anchor, reporter, and producer at stations throughout the country – such as WDAF, Fox 4 in Kansas City; News14 Carolina (now Spectrum news) in Raleigh; and the Conus (Hubbard Broadcasting), and Fox News Bureaus in Washington, DC, where she had the opportunity to work as an onsite producer at the White House, Capitol Hill, and State Department.

She kicked off her career serving as a Military Intelligence Officer in the United States Army in both the active and reserve components.

Dr. DeLancey also teaches speech communication at Northern Virginia Community College.

DeLancey is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, NY, where she earned a B.S. in American studies; a graduate of Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee, where she earned an M.A. in speech, communication, and theater; and a graduate of Regent University in Virginia Beach, Virginia, where she earned a Ph.D. in communication. She also holds the “APR,” the Accreditation in Public Relations.

Toni has been married to Douglas for the past 27 years; they are mom and dad to four amazing children – Jay (25), Leah (23), Gina (20), and Claire (13). She and her family live in Arlington, VA.
