Unique marriage of earned and owned media services provides clients with richer, more productive content across strategic communications platforms
(ALEXANDRIA, VA.) – May 28, 2014 – Pinkston, a national public relations firm based in the Washington, D.C., area, today announced the acquisition of web design company Burst Creative and the launch of Pinkston Digital, a new digital media services agency. Pinkston Digital offers an array of owned media capabilities, including web design and development, video production, photography, search engine optimization and more.
“Earned and owned media have traditionally been viewed as independent elements of a company’s communications and marketing strategy, but the current web-driven climate demands brand and message continuity across all platforms and content,” said Christian Pinkston, founder and president of Pinkston. “Pinkston excels at telling our clients’ stories in innovative ways, and the launch of Pinkston Digital is the natural next step in our growth as a company.
“Through Pinkston Digital, Pinkston is now able to provide our clients with high-quality digital services in house, eliminating the need to contract with third-party web development, SEO or video production firms that don’t know the organization or its unique strategic communications needs the way Pinkston already does,” Pinkston said.
Kevin Barr, founder and president of Burst Creative, will serve as Pinkston Digital’s director of digital services. For more than seven years, Barr and his team have provided their clients with the tools and expertise to build and sustain an engaging online presence through web design, development and search engine optimization. The new Pinkston Digital will provide the same high level of web services and expand to offer other owned digital media capabilities, including video production and photography.
“I was eager to join Pinkston after Christian outlined his vision for a new kind of digital services company that really understands websites, video content and other digital media in the context of comprehensive, collaborative communications strategies,” Barr said. “By viewing earned and owned media as two sides of the same coin, Pinkston and Pinkston Digital will be able to offer clients unified, streamlined services.”
Barr’s current web design and development staff will transition to Pinkston Digital, providing a seamless transition for their existing clients and ensuring Pinkston Digital can begin serving new clients immediately. Videographer Nick Pisciotta will join Pinkston Digital as digital media producer, and applications are currently being accepted for new designer positions being created in the launch.
