About Heather

As a vice president at Pinkston, Heather leads a team dedicated to developing and executing dynamic strategies for non-profit organizations and universities. Specializing in the humanitarian, advocacy and child welfare sectors, her team shapes clients’ public presence as they strive to create better, more hopeful futures for men, women, and children around the world.

Heather’s distinctive background shapes her approach to guiding clients through media engagement, crafting organizational messaging, preparing for crises, and seamlessly integrating earned media efforts with owned and digital media strategies.

Prior to joining Pinkston in 2021, Heather served as Press Secretary and Communications Director to several Members of Congress, cultivated earned media coverage, managed crisis response, and strategized targeted direct mail and social media advertising campaigns. She established and enhanced the national profiles of elected officials by securing hundreds of broadcast and print interviews, drafting and placing weekly op-eds and columns, coordinating national and local press conferences, and working closely with White House and congressional leadership to align messaging. In her more than five years on Capitol Hill and leading communications efforts for political campaigns, Heather drove major media efforts that enabled elected leaders to effectively tell their stories, clearly communicate policies and initiatives, and strengthen their connection with the American public. 

Heather’s distinctive background shapes her approach to guiding clients through media engagement, crafting organizational messaging, preparing for crises, and seamlessly integrating earned media efforts with owned and digital media strategies. Her team regularly secures coverage for clients in regional and national outlets including the Associated Press, Christianity Today, The Guardian, NPR, Inside Higher Ed, Religion News Service, The Washington Times, USA Today and The Atlantic, with appearances on Fox News, the Christian Broadcasting Network, and MSNBC.

Heather is originally from the Central Valley of California and is based in Pinkston’s Falls Church office. She graduated from Biola University in Southern California with a degree in creative writing and a secondary concentration in biblical studies.
